Doing our bit – Supporting the local community

Here at CL4Women we are always happy and willing to do our bit in supporting the local community. You may remember that over the last couple of summers we have sponsored the Lady Bay Open Gardens, which sees local residents open up their beautiful and colourful gardens to the public. Last year’s event was another huge success, with over 1,000 people attending and £7,700 raised for local charities.

As you might imagine, current events have taken over somewhat and so the Open Gardens cannot take its usual form this year. But that has not stopped the event organisers and this year’s event will take place virtually – ‘Lady Bay in Zoom’ if you might!

Rather than having people visiting their gardens, residents will instead showcase their amazing gardens via live video streams and photos! What a great idea to ensure that the show still goes on.

CL4Women are proudly sponsoring this year’s ‘Virtual’ Open Gardens, which will take place over the weekend of the 04th and 05th July. If you would like to join in and support this initiative, you can find out more on the event’s Facebook page here:

Open Kitchens Project

Of course, one of the industries hit hardest by the Covid-19 fallout has been hospitality. We are lucky in Nottingham and other local areas to have such an array of wonderful and independent bars and restaurants.

However, with social distancing measures in place and with no customers going through their doors, the majority have closed their doors temporarily.

Although that has not stopped some restaurants taking the opportunity to use their resources to help support those most in need. We are delighted to support the ‘Open Kitchens’ project which is being run by Bar Iberico (a favourite among the people here at CL4Women!).

They are looking to raise £22,200 so their chefs can cook 1,000 meals a week for the next 12-weeks (that is 12,000 meals!)which will be delivered to those most in need across Nottingham.

This is a wonderful initiative which we are only too happy to support. If you would like to find out more about the Open Kitchens project or make a donation, you can find more details here:
